Which state lights the way for new construction jobs?
With regional offices in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, we have you covered.

Jobs in Renewable Energy | New South Wales

Three new solar projects in New South Wales will produce enough renewable energy to power 41,500 homes per year. The renewable energy company, Neoen, will develop the plants in Parkes, Griffith, and Dubbo with 400,000 solar panels and feature single-axis tracking technology.

The projects have been approved for Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) funding, worth AUD $150 million and create 250 new construction jobs this year. CEFC large-scale solar program lead, Gloria Chan, said the three projects would increase the state’s solar capacity by more than 50%.

Jobs in Renewable Energy | Queensland

The regional council of Western Downs has recently approved the largest solar project in the region that will see Luminous Energy construct a 300-megawatt (MW) solar farm and create 400 construction jobs.

The project is expected to produce 300 MW of power from its solar farm between Miles and Chinchilla on the Western Downs.

The massive renewable energy project is scheduled to take 18 months to construct and makes it the biggest build currently underway in Queensland. It is the fourth large-scale renewable development to be approved by the Council and is expected to power up to 110,000 homes.

“It is a massive project, not only in terms of economic benefit and local job creation but also in the flow-on business development opportunities for associated renewable energy industries,” said Council planning boss Councillor Andrew Smith.

Jobs in Renewable Energy | Victoria

A new tram network in Victoria is set to be powered by 75 MW large scale solar farms, creating up to 300 new construction jobs in Melbourne. Just under half of the new solar farms will link directly to the City’s tram network and will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80,000 tonnes every year.

This enterprise keeps Victoria on track to meet its energy target of net-zero emissions by 2050 and place itself as a leader in climate change.

“We will use our purchasing power as a large energy consumer to boost investment in renewables and create new jobs for Victorians,” said Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio.
