In Construction

The Queensland Government has pledged to fund the AUD $5.4 billion Cross River Rail project, making it the number one infrastructure in the state.

Jobs in Demand

Construction is due to commence this year and supports more than 7,700 construction jobs over a five-year period. The project will transform the South East of Queensland and is vital to the future growth of the region.

Cross River Rail will allow the rail network to expand, provide faster travel times and economic benefits. With the demand for skilled construction workers in Queensland continuing to grow, it makes perfect sense to choose a recruitment partner who has the experience and industry knowledge to hire the best.

The Queensland Government has also announced that they will provide AUD $8.64 million worth of assistance for Mackay’s proposed $50 million biorefinery. The funding will kick-start development of the project and create 70 new construction jobs, with a further 45 when operational. Bio Processing, Australia’s (BPA) facility, is to be co-located at Mackay and construction is due to commence next year.

The commercial plant will have the capacity to produce 26,000 tonnes of soymeal, 2000 tonnes of animal feed and 15 mega litres of biodiesel each year. The funding will come from the Regional Growth Fund and will enable Queensland to expand exports of high-value yeast products internationally.

“BPA’s project is the latest bio-products facility to come to Queensland as we strive to realise our vision for a $1 billion sustainable and export-oriented industrial biotechnology and bioproducts sector by 2026,” said Member for Mirani Jim Pearce. Find more new construction jobs in Queensland.
