In a recent infographic by online career portal Indeed, they revealed the top 3 reasons why Australian workers change jobs. Interestingly, 57% of Australians reported that they are considering making a future career change and 43% said they would look to change in the next 12 months.

  1. 17% wanted more earning potential
  2. 16% wanted to do something more fulfilling
  3. 13% wanted to pursue their passion

 

Industries where workers are looking for a new challenge

 

  • Advertising, arts and media with only 56% staying within the industry and the majority moving into the administration and office support sector.

  • Consulting and strategy with only 57% staying within the industry and the majority moving into the administration and office support sector.

  • Human resources and recruitment with only 57% staying within the industry and the majority moving into the administration and office support sector.

  • Insurance and superannuation with only 56% staying within the industry and the majority moving into the banking and financial services sector.

  • Marketing with only 55% staying within the industry and the majority moving into the advertising, arts and media sector.

  • Sales and business development with only 43% staying within the industry and the majority moving into the retail and consumer products sector.
